Why does the development of our civilisation lead to abstract art?

We no longer have time to smear the figurative? - Our minds are finally able to approach the dimension of abstraction without being too frightened? We are no longer satisfied with reproducing what already exists in nature and wish to measure ourselves against God by our capacity to create? Or do we just want to escape from qualitative judgement by renouncing the realm of strict rules?

I don't know actually... I just like to wade through the colours - that's all... 😊

Perhaps, in a certain way, it is the knowledge of the whole through abstraction? - from the particular to the general, from the tangible to the gnoseological generalization, to the aesthetic sense of reality... But this is only a supposition... 😊
